Accessed via the private Estate road this building closes the eastern side of the original 16th century courtyard complex. Having left your car in its dedicated parking space, it is but a short step through a gate in the enclosing wall to a completely private patio courtyard. With a small wood to the north and lawn to the south, once inside, The Spring-Water Barn is full of surprises! Originally part of the Manor Farm, in more recent times, parts of the buildings had been used to house the pumping mechanisms for the Estate’s private supplies of spring water. Now removed, it has been possible to enlarge and upgrade the accommodation which caters especially and exclusively for two persons!
A large sitting area is open to the eaves and focuses on a huge granite hearth [now filled with a most efficient wood burning stove]. Furnishings are contemporary and luxurious with a dining area and open plan, granite topped kitchen, separate utility room with washing machine and boot store etc.
Flat screen TV’s are in both sitting and bed rooms. The bedroom also boasts a huge king size bed of excellent quality, with padded ‘leather’ headboard, and fitted with luxurious cotton sheets, duvet and mattress ‘topper’ for ultimate comfort! Within the bedroom, for pampering, ‘candlelit’ bathing, is a Victorian style ‘roll- top’ bath – complete with aromatic candle for that special relaxation. In the adjoining room are a separate shower, vanity unit and WC.
Whilst privacy, peace and seclusion are the hallmark of Spring-Water Barn, the renown, twenty acre Bonython Estate Gardens are available for guests to enjoy if they choose. Similarly, Cornwall lovers will find plenty to explore to kindle their love and the magic of Cornwall!
