South Lodge is a luxury self-catering holiday cottage nestling in the heart of Bonython Estate on the Lizard peninsula. Detached and surrounded by its own gardens of approximately half an acre, it overlooks farmland and is accessed from a private estate road – offering quiet seclusion and peace – the perfect getaway for couples with 2 en-suite bedrooms and style equivalent to a 5 star hotel!
Newly restored in a classic ‘New England’ style, it is principally on one level – with traditional “cladding” both inside and out, decorated in restful tones with a tasteful simplicity. Each bedroom has en suite facilities – with an extra-large bath for romantic “doubles” in the main bedroom as well as a marble clad shower!

Both bedrooms are of similar size – the main with a super-king size bed (which can be made up as two singles if required) and the second bedroom, with two single beds. The beds have luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets with down duvets and all pillows and towels are of the finest grade.
The main bedroom has a walk-in dressing room with dressing table. There are heated towel rails and under floor heating in both bathrooms.
The kitchen and dining area is open plan, looking through to the large sitting room, which leads out to its own garden and paved seating area. There is a wall mounted wood burner in the dining part of the kitchen and a 4-oven range cooker, dishwasher, tumble dryer and separate fridge freezer. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything required for a luxurious holiday stay. There is also a separate utility area and boot room equipped with laundry facilities.
The sitting room is light, airy and spacious with a vaulted ceiling and a large wood burning stove. There is wireless internet access and a flat screen television in the sitting room.
All principal rooms have fine, limed-oak flooring and the best, solid wood, ‘Plantation’ style shutters.
A special hamper is provided with homemade bread, cake and biscuits, wine, cheese, fruit, fruit-juice, cereals, eggs and homemade marmalade. Coffee, tea and milk - plus soaps and cleaning materials are also provided.
South Lodge is a property that will be very hard to beat in style, luxury and location.

Bonython Estate is located south of Helston (4 miles) at the gateway to Cornwall’s famed Lizard peninsula - mid-way between The Helford River inlet and the sea at nearby Poldhu Cove. The Lizard is justifiably famous for a wealth of coves, beaches and famous cliff walks across National Trust land and with the adjoining Nature Reserve on the southern boundaries of the estate.
Bonython has its own renowned gardens (of some twenty acres) which are open for guests staying in the holiday accommodation and often considered a highlight of the holiday – for their beauty and tranquillity.
